Air strikes have taken place in Syria, a day after dozens of civilians were killed in a suspected chemical attack.
The Syrian Air Defense Force shot down eight missiles following a strike on a military airport in the the area of Homs, state media SANA is reporting.
Loud explosions were heard near the T-4 airfield in the early hours of Monday.
State media said there were several dead and wounded following the strikes, which the broadcaster said the United States was suspected to be behind.
US officials were quick to deny the claims, saying no air strikes were taking place in Syria.
News agency AFP is this morning reporting that France has also denied staging the air strike.
Fourteen people were killed in the attack, a spokesperson for the the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said this morning.
Rami Abdurrahman said most of the 14 killed were either Iranians or members of Iran-backed groups.
