Police charged 71-year-old Robert F. Bulger with the hit and run accident where a Gloversville Police Department officer was struck and injured Wednesday.
A city police officer was struck by a vehicle Wednesday around 8:23 p.m. on West Fulton Street while responding to a complaint. A police release today said the officer was not injured and state police had located the vehicle that drove off following the incident at 9:10 a.m. this morning.
Bulger, of 477 W. Fulton St. Ext., was identified as the operator of the truck that allegedly hit the officer. He was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
City police were handling a disorderly conduct complaint on West Fulton Street near the intersection with South Burton Avenue Wednesday around 8:23 p.m. While preparing to leave the site of the complaint, a patrol officer was struck by a truck traveling westbound on West Fulton Street.
The officer was standing on the terrace of the eastbound travel lane, when he was struck by the vehicle that fled the scene.
