A day of horror in Afghanistan has seen a BBC journalist murdered, nine journalists killed in an ISIS suicide bomb blast and 11 children slaughtered in a separate attack.
Bloodshed has taken place across the country today, starting with a double suicide bombing in Kabul this morning before a separate suicide car attack aimed at a Nato convoy in Kandahar province.
The BBC confirmed one of its journalists, Ahmad Shah, was shot dead in another attack in Khost province, adding to a day of horrifying violence.
At least 36 people have been killed including 11 children and nine journalists, including Agence France-Presse (AFP) chief photographer Shah Marai.
Co-ordinated bomb attacks claimed by ISIS took place in Kabul at about 8am today when a suicide attacker riding a motorbike blew himself up near the Nato headquarters and the US embassy.
