Hillary Clinton praised New Zealand on Monday while she joked about giving "some thought" to moving out of the United States after she lost to President Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
Clinton, speaking at an event organized by The Growth Factory in Auckland, New Zealand, thanked well-wishers for their support during her campaign and after her loss.
"I want to thank some of you for sending good wishes a very long way during my campaign and the months that followed," Clinton said. "I received a number of invitations from Kiwis to permanently relocate here, and I must say that I really did appreciate the offers, gave them some thought."
Clinton said she would remain in American after all.
"I'm going to stay put because we have work to do in my country as well," Clinton said.
A star-studded list of Clinton supporters said they would move out of the United States if Trump won the election; however, few actually followed through on their promise.
Following her defeat, Clinton stayed out of the public eye for a short time before returning to the lecture circuit and releasing a memoir. She has already spoken in several countries.
