Erratic footage captured above Times Square over the weekend shows a group of guys revving their engines and speeding along the busy intersection in their cars.
Members of an auto club named Vengeance took over the packed streets for their usual 'smoke shows' or 'burnouts', a man who refers to himself as Freesmoke 100 explained at the scene.
'Usually, the cops, they don't bother us. They just let us go, or if they do, they'll stop and just give us tickets,' Freesmoke 100 told CBS New York.
However, this weekend, that changed, as police weren't feeling as generous.
A New York Police Department van was seen blocking off the area after spotting the racers causing a ruckus in the streets.
Officers are seen ordering the men to get out of their vehicle before placing them in handcuffs.
The wild race began at 46th Street and Seventh Avenue, the news station reported.
