A CBS reporter slammed those giving “thoughts and prayers” to the family and friends of victims of the high school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, Friday.
“You tweeted out that your thoughts and prayers were with the victims and, just sort of being online, you’re getting a lot of reaction for that,” said the CBS host to Texas Ag Ken Paxton. “You know, thoughts and prayers, we — we hear that every time there’s a shooting.”
He continued to ask, “How do you respond to people who say something’s got to be done, our children need to feel safe, and of all places, their school?”
“I would prefer to have people that were in place to protect our children,” Paxton responded.
The Texas school shooting left multiple victims dead. Possible explosives were also identified both at the school nearby the scene of the shooting.
