A 10-year-old girl has died after a ferris wheel car she was riding on plummeted to the ground as horrified theme park crowds watched on.
The girl was believed to be one of seven people in the car, including three children, when a bolt loosened on the ride at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Six others are reportedly being treated for serious injuries in hospital, while the 10-year-old girl, known only as Amrutha, is understood to have died immediately at the scene.
The fun fair, held in the grounds of a local college, was packed with weekend crowds enjoying the rides.
