Incredible footage shows Timmy, six, playing with the bright green slip and slide in the garden of his home in Orlando, Florida. as the animal lurks just feet away.
His mum Nicole Mojica was filming Timmy in the sunshine and didn't realise how close the creature had come to her son she watched the clip back afterwards.
The alligator is hard to spot at first but it's lurking beside a garden chair which was right behind Timmy.
