Strangers save driver trapped in car by digging with their bare hands

Strangers dug with their bare hands to save a driver trapped in his car after a huge lorry tipped over shedding its load on top.



The car was crushed with the weight of falling stones, as passersby and fellow drivers got out their cars to help.



Footage of the rescue shows people grabbing at the shingle and trying to get an area clear for the man to get through.



Police officers and the fire service arrived on scene to find a number of people already standing on top of the pile of stones covering the crushed car, removing as much of the debris as possible to reveal the motorist trapped inside.



The video shows the lucky victim conscious and appearing able to move his head.
