Police broke up the scrap after two women argued about who could take a picture first in front of the iconic fountain in Italy, according to reports.
Both families got involved after a Dutch tourist, 19, apparently argued with an Italian-American woman, 44, in a bust-up that left both women with bruising.
The women traded slaps and punches before relatives piled in.
The incident on Wednesday had began as a verbal row between the two women before escalating into a punch-up.
