Cop run over by his OWN VAN while chasing after a wanted man

A cop was injured when he was run over while chasing a suspect - by his OWN van.



The officer had to have hospital treatment for leg injuries after the accident in Manchester.



Footage shows the van pulling up at a junction, where the cop jumps out and starts to pursue a man standing on the pavement.



The Greater Manchester Police van follows, and the officer on foot is hit, the Manchester Evening News reports.



Detectives said it showed how officers ‘put themselves in difficult situations to keep our streets safe on a daily basis’.
