Following an earlier confirmation of the new lap record at the Nurburgring, Lamborghini has released the onboard footage from the Aventador SVJ’s 6:44.97 run.
With Marco Mapelli sitting behind the wheel, the upcoming Aventador SVJ managed to lap the 12.8-mile long German track 2.3 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which held the unofficial production car lap record so far with a 6:47.3.
Lamborghini also offered the first bit of official information on the upcoming SV Jota, saying that their latest creation was subjected to a significant diet that resulted in “the best weight-to-power ratio of only 1,98 kg/hp” through the extensive use of lightweight materials.
The Italian car maker also added that the bodywork of the Aventador SVJ was reworked entirely in order to fit their ALA active aero agenda, which debuted in the Huracan Performante.
