A man in his 80s scared off a gunman and two hammer-wielding raiders after they attempted to rob the bookmakers where he was a customer.
Plucky punter Denis O'Connor took on the raiders at Bar One bookies on September 15.
He said that he did not hesitate to help despite the risk to his own life as raiders attacked manager Tim Murphy.
Denis told the Irish Sun: "Tim is a very nice young man and I just couldn't not help him, I ignored the fellow with the gun and I just went behind the counter."
