A teenage boy has been seriously injured after he was bitten by a shark on a California beach.
Fox 5 San Diego reports that the attack took place early Saturday morning, while he was lobster diving.
The 13-year-old boy was at Beacon’s Beach in Encinitas, north of San Diego at around 6.55am local time (just before 3pm UK time).
San Diego Sheriff’s Office say that he was airlifted by helicopter to Rady Children’s Hospital with serious injuries to his ear and shoulder.
