This is the dramatic moment a private hire taxi driver swerved to avoid hitting a man who stepped in front of his car.
A lorry driver who filmed the incident has praised the cabbie's quick-thinking which almost certainly saved the man from serious injury or even death.
In the footage, caught on the lorry's dashcam, the man can be seen wandering off a pavement and into the path of a passing car, the Liverpool Echo reports .
The car has to quickly swerve to avoid hitting the man, who seems none the wiser despite his brush with death.
He then continues to walk in the street and down the middle of the main road, towards the approaching fully-laden HGV.
However luckily for the man the HGV driver had seen the earlier incident and had slowed down.
