The incident occurred in the courtyard of the house number 8 on Tukaya Street on the afternoon of October 8, when the city was facing bad weather. One of the birch trees could not stand the gust of wind and collapsed down, crushing the pensioner who was walking down the street. Eyewitnesses rushed to his aid, but failed to save the man - from the injuries he died on the spot before the arrival of the doctors.



While the regional administration of the TFR is conducting an investigation investigation, local residents have accused the public utilities of inaction, since they have received complaints about old trees more than once. ´
