A paedo on the run for five years was finally caught by police after they rang his mobile phone and found him cowering behind a false wall.
Brian Ward had "tried absolutely everything to avoid capture" after he fled a trial in 2013 for indecently assaulting a young girl.
He was also dubbed one of the 'UK's most wanted men' by Crimestoppers and 'Wales' most wanted man.'
However, last week fate finally caught up with him when he was found by a police officer during a search of a Cardiff flat hiding in a room.
Officers said the 62-year-old, who will be spending Christmas behind bars , was "clearly angry" when he realised he had been caught.
