Robbers smashed the head of a cash-in-transit driver with a hammer as part of a terrifying robbery outside a Home Bargains.
The attack in Manchester was caught on CCTV.
The two hammer-wielding thugs ambushed the driver in broad daylight as he walked towards the store from his delivery van, reports the Manchester Evening News .
One man was armed with a claw hammer and the other a lump hammer. They repeatedly hit him over the head and body before snatching his cash case and fleeing the scene.
Greater Manchester Police say the two men then jumped in a grey Audi A3 and drove off.
Thanks to the driver's protective clothing he escaped uninjured.
