A grandmother has been arrested after allegedly trying to perform an exorcism on her nine-year-old granddaughter who she claimed was possessed by demons.
A distressing video sees the woman and her mother - the child's great grandmother - ripping her clothes off and holding blankets over her face.
The girl was left in the elderly duo's care in San Miguel, El Salvador, after her own parents reportedly decided to try to find a better life in the US.
The girl's 55-year-old grandmother Narcisa Escobar claimed a 'witch' had made a plastic voodoo doll which had made the child "get crazy every afternoon".
In the footage, recorded by an eyewitness and uploaded to social media, one of the women can be seen putting a bible in the girl's face while the other holds her down.
