There was just one survivor after an Iranian military cargo plane carrying meat crashed into homes and exploded into flames, killing 15 people.
The flight engineer was the only person still alive after the Boeing 707 went down west of the capital Tehran in bad weather.
Rescuers raced to the scene and went through the smouldering wreckage to look for victims.
Sixteen people were on board the aircraft when it crashed near Fath airport - which belongs to Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps - in the central Iranian province of Alborz, state media reported.
It was initially thought that everyone on board was killed, but reports later emerged the flight engineer was the lone survivor.
