Ten crew members have died after two ships caught fire in the Kerch Strait near Crimea, according to the Russian Transport Ministry.
The ministry, citing rescuers, said crew members were jumping into the sea to escape the flames.
Crew members of the two ships totalled 31 and included citizens of Turkey and India, it said.
One of them was rocked by an explosion, according to reports.
Russian officials say the flames spilled over to another ship, according to RT.
Survivors were seen jumping into the Black Sea.
A rescue operation is underway.
