A speeding motorist has done a smoking handbrake turn on a busy intersection as he tried to escape police in New Zealand.
Footage uploaded on Friday shows the red Holden Commodore cornered by four police cars and a motorbike at the intersection of Weymouth Road and Great South Road in Manurewa, South Auckland.
An officer jumps out of a car and at least three police gun shots can be heard.
But the reckless motorist manages to escape by driving over the footpath and onto the wrong side of the road as he narrowly avoids the police cars.
