Municipal agents attended a report of a man with a knife attempting to harm himself.
The agents tried to persuade the man, identified as Gerardo Holguín, alias “El Pelón”, who was on the roof of a home located on Ramón Noriega, between Tenth and Eleventh streets, in the Palo Verde neighborhood.
During an exchange of words, the officers got too close and Holguín swung his knife and stabbed an officer two times. The two other officers responded the aggression with gunfire ultimately killing Holguín.
