A paedophile hunter had a finger viciously bitten off while trying to seize a pervert who was tricked into thinking he was meeting a 14-year-old girl.
Steve Little, 60, of Liverpool, had confronted Thomas De-Castle-Lynne, 46, with fellow members of Catching Online Predators.
The grandfather said restrained De-Castle-Lynn on the ground after he became aggressive but that his finger ended up in the pervert's mouth during the scuffle and it was savagely torn off.
De-Castle-Lynn has now been jailed for 10 years at St Albans Crown Court for a variety of offences including grooming, racial harassment and wounding with intent.
Doctors desperately tried to save Mr Little's finger and were able to reattach it, but it was later amputated after the wound became infected.
