Panic gripped a Russian city rocked by explosions at a major military bomb-making plant which left two workers missing and 27 injured.
A giant fireball followed by a Chernobyl-like mushroom cloud erupted over the Kristall plant in the city of Dzerzhinsk, east of Moscow.
Videos showed a spectacular explosion and children were heard crying in the background as the blasts blew out the windows of houses and cars, and wrecked the interior of a supermarket nearby, said locals.
The explosions shook entire apartment blocks and triggered car alarms all over the city as the cloud of smoke was visible from several miles away.
