This is the moment a convicted drug dealer handed himself into police after accidentally shooting dead his friend while he 'mucked around' with a Luger pistol.
Jordan Bassett, 25, can be seen in body-cam footage pointing out to officers the bag of bloodstained clothes he was wearing when he blasted Addison Packeer, 27, at point blank range.
Bassett claimed he did not know the firearms was loaded when he shot dead his pal as they 'laughed and joked' in a friend's flat in Coventry at 1am on December 7 last year.
The 25-year-old told a court that the gun just 'went off' before he tried in vain to save his friend as he bled from a wound to the right side of his head on the sofa.
He admitted manslaughter but denied murder and went on trial at Warwick Crown Court last week.
It can now be reported how Bassett was spared jail at the same court last year after being convicted of growing and supplying cannabis.
He was spared prison after convincing a judge that he could 'stay out of trouble' as a stay-at-home father.
On Monday a jury took ten-and-a-half hours to clear him of murder but found him guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, which he had also denied.
