A bank robber who fled the UK while on licence has been arrested in Tenerife.
Aaron Williams made headlines in 2007 when he was sprung from a security van as it arrived at court.
The successful escape attempt was designed to appear like a kidnapping.
Williams, 33, was held at a hotel on the Spanish island after fleeing the UK with a relative’s passport while on licence.
He went on the run in March 2007 after being heard shouting “Don’t let them take me” as he was dragged from a security van outside Salford Magistrates Court by three men with knives.
