Vandalism suspect who was allegedly threatening her neighbors gets taking down by officer, but not before giving him a run for his money.
On January 6th 2019, at around 2:50 p.m., officers assigned to the Devonshire division responded to 21500 block of Lassen Street, for a radio call of a vandalism suspect.
A Sergeant arrived before the officers and met with the person who called for service. He then broadcast that he was at the scene with the two vandalism suspects later identified as Kellie Millard and Carlos Mejia.
Millard failed to comply with the Sargeant’s commands and a use of force occurred. During that use of force, Mejia approached the Sergeant and a second use of force occurred.
Millard and her boyfriend Mejia were later taken into custody with help from responding officers.
On January 8th Carlos Mejia was convicted of 1 count of resisting arrest which was related to this incident.
Kellie Millard was convicted of 1 count of battery with injury on a police officer.
