A major fire has broken out at a Hotpoint warehouse in Peterborough with reports of 'explosions' heard as thick smoke clouds fill the air.
Witnesses have been sharing dramatic video footage and images online with one witness reporting hearing explosions "every few seconds".
Fire crews say there are 40 trailers alight, full of parts for washing machines and fridges, as Whirlpool confirmed the fire broke out in an area where heavy goods vehicles are parked.
Photographs show dark smoke rising behind houses as officials describe the incident as "serious" and warn people to keep their windows and doors shut.
Fire, ambulance and police teams are at the scene in Woodston amid reports the fire - said to be producing 'toxic smoke' - can be seen from "miles away".
The site is Whirlpool’s UK headquarters which comprises the firm’s UK head office, storage and depot facilities.
