Video showing surveillance footage from a robbery at the Burlington Coat Factory in Blaine has been removed from social media by Blaine Police Department after it learned that the suspects are juveniles.
The robbery took place at 9 p.m. on Black Friday at the Burlington at Northtown Mall, with two staff sprayed with a chemical agent by two females who tried to leave the store with baskets full of merchandise they hadn't paid for.
Blaine PD shared the video from the robbery, and in the days after it was posted, it racked up 550,000 views on Facebook alone.
On Wednesday, it said it had received multiple tips as a result of the video, with preliminary information suggesting that the two females are juveniles.
"The video has since been removed from the Blaine Police Department Facebook page due to the age of the suspects," Blaine PD notes.
At this stage, it isn't clear whether Blaine PD has identified the girls, saying that additional information will be released "if possible."
Video from store surveillance cameras shows a staff member fall over after being sprayed in the face. Police say that one employee had to be hospitalized after the incident.
As employees recovered from being sprayed and checked on the condition of the staffer on the floor, the girls re-entered the store and reclaimed their purses and stolen property.
