FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Police Department has responded to a video of a boy suffering from a seizure being handcuffed by officers.
Just before 4 p.m. on January 30th, police rushed over to the restaurant after a woman called 911 to report that her 16-year-old family member was suffering from a seizure.
The family member told a 911 dispatcher that the boy was locked in the bathroom and was being combative and hurting himself.
A recording of the 911 call captured the boy screaming in the background, threatening to kill his family.
Officers say they placed handcuffs on the boy to keep him from hurting himself or others until an ambulance could arrive.
Police Chief Andy Hall says that the officer-worn body camera footage of the incident has been reviewed.
