LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Nye County Sherriff Sharon Wehrly provided an update Friday on the deadly deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 25, in Pahrump.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect, 19-year-old Matthew Moore, was shot and killed by Nye County detectives after firing a shotgun four times a detective.
According to Sheriff Wehrly’s briefing, Detective Bryan Cooper and his partner Detective Logan Gibbs responded Wednesday night to a residence on Surrey Lane for a reported stabbing.
The victim told the detectives that Moore had tried to steal their belt at knifepoint and had cut their neck.
