NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – Investigators are searching for a group of motorcycle riders who violently assaulted a man during a road rage incident in North Fort Myers.
The man was driving westbound on Pondella Road around 3:15 p.m. on January 9 when he encountered the large group riding street performance motorcycles, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. The riders were recklessly speeding, cutting off other drivers and blocking intersections.
The man yelled at the group to stop blocking traffic, and one man got off his motorcycle and smashed the man’s side-view mirror, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said. The other motorcyclists stopped near the intersection of Pondella Road and Lamar Road and surrounded the man’s car and smashed out all of his car’s windows.
The group then beat the man with a large wrench and their helmets, which knocked him to the ground. Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said they repeatedly kicked him and caused extensive injuries that required the man to be rushed to the hospital as a trauma alert.
Several people interjected and broke up the attack, which is when the group rode off on their motorcycles, according to investigators. Dashboard video was able to capture pictures of each one of the suspects involved in the attack.
