When the student ripped down a flag that represented LGBTQ students at Ridgeline High School, it was met with cheers and laughter from some of those in attendance.
The video has since spread on social media, identifying both the school as well as its green hawk mascot. Several videos were originally shared privately among peers via Snapchat before being going viral across all social media platforms.
The incident came on the second day of school's Diversity Week and happened shortly before it started. It occurred when someone put up a pride flag in an otherwise normal line of flags from countries also taking part in diversity week next to the American Flag and covering Cuba’s own flag as well.
