A mystery man in a wheelchair opening fire on someone in Harlem apparently led to a clash between police and a massive crowd who threw bottles at them over the weekend.
The gunman fired off multiple rounds around 3:40 a.m. Sunday near W. 134th St. and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., police said. The shooting was captured on video, released by the NYPD late Monday.
Authorities told the Daily News the man was shooting at someone but missed.
The gunshots were picked up by the NYPD’s ShotSpotter system, which uses microphones to pick up sounds of gunfire, police said. Cops were then dispatched to investigate. Several shell casings were found, along with at least two fired bullets.
