Man Kills Cougar With A Machete While Trying To Save His Dogs Life During Vicious Attack

This was the frightening moment a man had to spring into action when his dog was attacked by a cougar on Bear Creek Main near Vernon BC, Canada.

The video shows the large cat nonchalantly approach the pup and tackle it to the ground, biting down on its neck.

The owner is seen sprinting out from his camper moments later with a machete and slashing down at the cougar's head and neck area until it finally lets go of the pup.

The cougar was killed during the attack but even sadder, the dog died as well.

Conservation officers the next day confirmed that the cougar was half-starved and likely going to die because it’s mouth and paws had several porcupine quills festering.
