Argument Over Mask Laws Gets Violent At A Bakery In Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. -- Two Portland-area residents were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly attacking the owner of a downtown Eugene store and capturing the incident on camera, but this isn't the first time they've been accused of trespassing.

Ricki Collin, 34, and Amy Hall, 45, are facing third-degree assault charges, a felony, after the incident at Crumb Together on Oak Street.

It all started when the two reportedly walked in without masks and refused to leave and ended with the owner going to the hospital for treatment for her cuts and bruises.

Collin has an open case of trespassing in Washington County, amounting to seven misdemeanor charges, including trespassing while in possession of a firearm.

He has reportedly posted several videos to a YouTube channel in which he is seen confronting law enforcement and others about mask mandates.

The assistant superintendent of special education for the Douglas Education Service District, Bryan Hinson, said he had an encounter with Collins and Hall at about 10 a.m. on Oct. 15.

"My assistant came back and said, 'Hey, we're having an issue with some people out at the reception area,' and asked if I could come and deal with the situation," said Hinson.

Collin was reportedly recording a video, which he later posted on the YouTube channel. In the video, you can see Collin and Hall walk into the Roseburg Public Library, which is where Douglas ESD operates.

Hinson asked Collin and Hall to leave when they refused to put a mask on. Then he asked the receptionist to call the police department's non-emergency line.

"I said, OK, at this point you're trespassing. And from that point, the police handled it," said Hinson.
