Large crowds gathered outside Victoria’s State Parliament in Melbourne, Australia, to protest against a controversial pandemic bill on the night of November 16.
Footage filmed by Instagram user @free_victoria_ shows protesters outside Parliament House on Tuesday night, waving Australian flags and chanting. Other video circulating on social media showed fake gallows outside Parliament House on Monday.
According to local news reports Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews condemned the scenes outside parliament as “appalling” and “disgusting”.
The Victorian government’s new Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (Pandemic Management) Bill 2021 would give the state government more power to declare a state of pandemic and introduce pandemic orders.
