NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Metro Nashville Police officer has been injured after she was hit by a stolen vehicle Monday afternoon following a police chase.
The department tells FOX 17 News the accident happened in the 700 block of Cowan Street, located just west of I-24.
MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron says Officer Jerica Gladston identified a stolen Cadillac at a gas station on Brick Church and Avondale. The vehicle was reportedly stolen out of Wilson County. Two suspects drove away and a police pursuit ensued.
Gladston—a three-year MNPD veteran—was putting down a spike strip to stop the suspects along Cowan Street when she was hit, according to Aaron. Nearby surveillance video caught the moment she was struck.
