A winter storm struck shortly after this cargo ship packed with brand new cars from Japan left its dock. The storm turned these cars into solid ice-shells around the cars themselves.
Dock workers in Russia did their best to unload the cars without causing too much damage. But, once they thawed it was evident the damage was done as most of the windows were shattered and the ice was inside of the engines, car interior, trunks and basically any place water could get into.
The end result was Japanese automakers lost millions in merchandise.
