FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26 NEWS) — UPDATE: The Fresno Police Department announced the arrest of a man in connection to an attack on a family of Fresno street vendors on Valentine's Day.
Detectives arrested 21-year-old Martin Chavez on Wednesday for a strong-armed robbery that occurred in broad daylight at the intersection of East Tulare and South Fresno Streets.
Police say multiple tips came in after the family shared the video of the attack.
Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama said Chavez confessed and apologized for committing the crime.
He also said Chavez was writing an apology letter to the victims.
Detectives were able to positively identify the suspect in the strong-armed robbery as Martin Chavez, thanks to the information received from the community.
