RACINE, Wis. — Two people were shot Thursday afternoon during a funeral at Graceland Cemetery in Racine, police said.
One was flown to the hospital and the other, a girl, was treated and released.
Thursday night, Mayor Cory Mason announced he would instruct police to enforce the city's juvenile curfew through the weekend. That ordinance requires anyone under 18 to be home by 11 p.m.
Family members say the person airlifted to the hospital is in stable condition Thursday night.
The funeral home confirmed the shooting happened during the funeral for Da’Shontay King, who was shot and killed by a Racine police officer two weeks ago.
"I heard it was mass chaos here. People were running and people were screaming," said Sgt. Kristi Wilcox, Racine Police PIO. "I know we got multiple 911 calls that people were shot."
The shots were fired at 2:26 p.m., police said.
