In what may go down as the world’s worst hit-job attempt, a would-be murderer botched a hit job so bad that his would-be victim had enough time to get his own gun and flee the scene.
The incident unfolded Wednesday night in Lancaster, Pennsylvania around 6:40 p.m. when a 34-year-old “black male was shot in both legs while standing outside of a local grocery store at 41st and Lancaster Ave,” the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement. “He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and listed in stable condition.”
Video footage shows the unidentified suspect existing an SUV and shooting before the gun appears to jam. The footage then shows the offender shooting at the 34-year-old victim, who runs into a grocery store. Suddenly the offender retreats, appearing to receive fire from the victim. The suspect tries to flee but then trips over a scooter as the would-be victim runs out of the store in the opposite direction.
Fox 29’s Steve Keeley said the offender’s “purple latex gloves [were] not put on too well, gun jams, victim runs into store, gets out own gun.”
