Nottingham-Teenagers jumped over the counter and stole food and drink from a McDonald's restaurant in the city center after a gang of around 50 youths piled inside. The group of teenagers went into the Clumber Street eatery at around 9 pm on Sunday, August 21.
Police said around seven people jumped over the counter and started stealing food that was being prepared in the kitchen. They also helped themselves to soft drinks. Police said members of the group filmed what happened, with a video, which appeared to show the incident, has surfaced on social media.
Around 20 of the group were said to have stayed in the restaurant and were threatening and abusive towards staff. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said the incident was "completely unacceptable".
Officers also said the same group were reportedly congregating outside the Milton Street McDonald’s at around 10pm, but nothing was taken. The group are believed to be between 14 to 16 years old and dressed in tracksuit bottoms, hats and caps.
Police attended both McDonald's stores but the group had disappeared by the time officers had arrived. "No arrests have been made yet, but we will be working with the Clumber Street McDonald’s and carrying out CCTV inquiries to find those responsible,” continued the police spokesperson. McDonald's has been approached for comment.
