Two spectators wearing what appeared to be Avalanche jerseys were escorted away by Winnipeg Police after fellow fans moved to separate the combatants.
A 54-year-old fan in a Jets jersey had to be assisted after intervening to assist security when the male suspect assaulted him, police said. The assault caused the victim to lose his balance and fall back onto the ice surface boards, causing a laceration to his head. The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for his injury.
