A Florida deputy helped pull a stranded dog from the water.
The Alachua County Sheriff's Office released body cam video of the rescue. Deputies responded to the area of Paynes Prairie, overlooking US Highway 411 on Friday, Dec. 23, following a report of a stranded dog.
Upon arrival, deputies found the dog, but it was over the seawall in the water, just out of reach. In the body cam video, the dog can be heard whimpering, clearly in distress.
Through much convincing, and help from a good Samaritan, the dog inched close enough to the deputies to be pulled from its precarious position.
The dog was pulled from the water, soaking wet. Luckily, it appeared to be alright. The dog was leashed and placed into the back of the deputy's patrol car, where it can be seen happily wagging its tail.
