NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Metro Police are searching for the suspect who repeatedly hit a man in the head with an unknown weapon at an East Nashville laundromat.
Video shows the attacker entering the laundromat and "randomly" hitting a 45-year-old man in the head who was leaning against a machine, knocking him to the ground. Metro Police report that the object used in the beating is similar to a crowbar.
The suspect, who was not at all provoked, continues to hit the victim in the head with the weapon about seven more times. Another person in the video can be seen walking away from the suspect during the attack.
Metro Police said the man in the video is a suspect in three other similar, unprovoked attacks this month. On March 16, the suspect assaulted a 27-year-old man who was having car issues on E. Due West Ave. On March 18, the man attacked a 32-year-old man outside the Citgo market at 2705 Dickerson Pike. On March 19, the suspect attacked a 31-year-old man who was jogging on Lischey Avenue.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s who is about 5'7" tall. He is seen in the video wearing a black hoodie. Police say he could be seen in a silver SUV. The incident occurred at a laundromat on Dickerson Pike Wednesday night.
Anyone recognizing the man from the surveillance images/video is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
