On March 25, 2023, a Piper PA-34-200T Seneca II private jet (registration PR-FDL) splashed down in the Cauame River near Boa Vista, Brazil. The incident occurred due to problems with the engine. There were six people on board and no one was injured in the incident.
After receiving a message about the accident, emergency services immediately arrived at the launch site, where they secured the aircraft and delivered all passengers and the pilot to the shore.
The airframe structure itself was significantly damaged. Video footage of the sequence of events has been posted online. This was recorded on a mobile phone by a passenger of the plane.
