The event occurred in Caaguazú, Paraguay, where five to six men were sitting on the sidewalk, sharing a round of drinks.
At one point, one of them, an off-duty cop, got up and went to his car from where he took out a weapon and later fired it from a distance against one of his friends, identified as Juan Denis(24), who was shot in the neck.
Petty Officer Assistant Marcos Aguilera (22), who was in civilian clothes at the time, stated that he only wanted to show the weapon and that the shot was accidental. However, his version of him does not match the images.
The officer was arrested and the shot man is in the hospital in serious but stable condition.
