FORT MYERS, Fla. (CBS12) — A convicted double murderer was tackled to the ground in court after he elbowed his attorney in the face.
According to our sister station WINK-TV, 60-year-old Joseph Zieler, convicted in the 1990 murders of 11-year-old Robin Cornell and family friend Lisa Story in Cape Coral, was tackled after he elbowed his attorney in the face on Monday. Zieler was in court for his sentencing where he was slated to address the court.
Video shows Zieler motioning his attorney, Kevin Shirley, toward him. Shirley leaned forward expecting Zieler to whisper something to him. However, Zieler struck Shirley in the face with his elbow.
